School History

 

James DeAnda Elementary is a dual-language school that was founded in 2011. DeAnda Elementary was named in honor of the late Judge James DeAnda, a native Houstonian and graduate of HISD’s Davis HS. DeAnda was one of the first Mexican American attorneys to argue before the Supreme Court and the second Mexican American to serve as a federal judge. 

DeAnda Elementary currently serves over 600 students.
